Bee-Keeping

The "Bee-Keeping" scheme is a centrally sponsored scheme implemented by the Horticulture Department, Government of Rajasthan, with 60% funding from the Central Government and 40% funding from the State Government, and aims to promote bee-keeping through subsidy assistance for purchasing bee colonies and bee-keeping boxes for farmers and bee-keepers. The scheme provides a subsidy on eligible costs for bee colonies and boxes, subject to prescribed limits. A maximum of 50 bee colonies and 50 bee-keeping boxes can be subsidized for each beneficiary. Preference is given to small and marginal farmers, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, women farmers, and trained beekeepers. Subsidy is released after verification through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Subsidy on Bee Colony:

• Subsidy of 40% of the cost of one bee colony or ₹800/- per colony, whichever is lower.
• The reference cost of one 8-frame bee colony is ₹2,000/-.

Subsidy on Bee-Keeping Box:

• Subsidy of 40% of the cost of one bee-keeping box or ₹800/- per box, whichever is lower.
• The reference cost of one bee-keeping box is ₹2,000/-.

Maximum Assistance:

• Subsidy is available for a maximum of 50 bee colonies per beneficiary.
• Subsidy is available for a maximum of 50 bee-keeping boxes per beneficiary.

• The applicant must be a farmer.
