Fellowship for Training of Young Scientists

The “Fellowship for Training of Young Scientists (FTYS)” scheme has been implemented by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Madhya Pradesh. The fellowship aims to encourage young scientists to undertake advanced research training in emerging and frontier areas of science and technology by providing eligible young scientists and research scholars of Madhya Pradesh with monthly fellowship support, contingency assistance, and travel reimbursement.

Financial Assistance

• Fellowship of ₹10,000 per month during the approved training period.
• Contingency grant of ₹5,000 for research-related expenses.
• Additional contingency grant of ₹5,000 if training duration is 5 months or more.
• One-time to-and-fro travel reimbursement by Train (up to 3AC) or Bus, on submission of proof.

Fellowship Duration

• Minimum duration: 1 month.
• Normal duration: 3 months.
• Maximum duration (special cases): 6 months.

Mode of Disbursement

• Direct payment through MPCST after approval and verification.
• Monthly fellowship payments during the training period.
• Disbursed during the approved tenure after joining confirmation.
• Valid only for the sanctioned training duration.

1. The applicant must be an employee or research scholar.
2. The applicant must be working in an institution recognized by State or Central agencies.
3. The applicant must be working in an institution located in Madhya Pradesh.
4. The applicant’s age must not exceed 35 years at the time of application submission.
5. The applicant must be a Madhya Pradesh Young Scientist Awardee and should apply within two years of receiving the award.
6. The applicant must be a participant of the Madhya Pradesh Young Scientist Congress and should apply within one year of presenting the research paper.

Offline

Step 1: The interested applicant downloads the application form from the official website.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form in four copies along with the documents to the:

• Applications may be submitted any time during the year.
• Applications must reach MPCST at least 2 months before the proposed start of training.

• Proof of Employment or Research Scholar Status

• M.P. Young Scientist Congress Participation Certificate
• Educational Qualifications (Bachelor's Degree/Mark Sheet)
• Acceptance Letter from Host Institution
• Consent and Recommendation from Host Scientist
• Progress Report (For Extension Cases Only)
• Travel Proof (For Reimbursement Claim)
• Training Completion Certificate
• Detailed Final Report with Vouchers

• The applicant cannot avail the fellowship at their parent institution.
