The Integrated Scheme for Export Promotion & Quality Improvement in Spices and Research and Development of Cardamom – Organic Farming: Construction of Vermicompost Units is implemented by the Spices Board, India, under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. The scheme aims to encourage spice growers to produce vermicompost on their farms by establishing vermicompost units. This helps in the production of high-quality organic manure, improves soil fertility, and promotes the organic cultivation of spices. The scheme is being implemented in accordance with the modalities and guidelines approved by the Competent Authority under the Integrated Scheme for Export Promotion & Quality Improvement in Spices and Research and Development of Cardamom during the 15th Finance Commission period (2021–22 to 2025–26).
लाभ
- 33.33% of cost one-ton capacity of vermicompost unit @ ₹ 4500/- for Gen and 75% @ ₹ 10,000/- for SC/ST
- Spices growers having holdings from 0.10 ha to 8.00 ha. A grower having an area upto 4 ha will be eligible to avail a maximum of 1 unit and a grower having area above 4 ha and upto 8 ha will be eligible to avail a maximum of 2 units under the scheme.
- The size of the vermicompost unit construction will be 2.7 m x 0.9 m x 0.9 m with a capacity to produce one ton in two cycles.
- Locally available customized units with the above production capacity are also eligible for assistance with supporting bills and documents of purchase and the assistance will be limited to eligible % of assistance of actual cost.

- Preference will be given to farmers who are members of ICS and groups/FPOs

Registration
Step 1: The applicant should visit the ServicesPlus website.
Step 2: Click on the “Register” option on the homepage.
Step 3: Fill out the registration form by entering Full Name, Email ID, Mobile Number, Password, selecting State, and Captcha.
Step 4: Review all details carefully and submit the registration form.
Step 5: An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number or email; enter the OTP and click “Verify.”
Step 6: Registration will be completed successfully, and a confirmation message will be displayed or sent via email.

Step 1: The applicant should visit the ServicesPlus website and click on “Login.”
Step 2: Enter your Email ID, Password, and Captcha.
Step 3: Select the relevant service/scheme name.
Step 4: Fill in the required details in the application form.

The standard vermicompost unit should measure 2.7 metres × 0.9 metres × 0.9 metres and should have the capacity to produce one ton of vermicompost in two production cycles.
- Are customized vermicompost units eligible for assistance?
Yes. Locally available customized vermicompost units are also eligible for assistance, provided they have the prescribed production capacity and the applicant submits supporting purchase bills and related documents.
- Is the subsidy calculated on the actual cost of a customized unit?
Yes. In the case of customized units, assistance is limited to the eligible percentage of the actual cost incurred by the farmer, subject to the maximum assistance allowed under the scheme.
- Which documents are required to apply for the scheme?
Applicants are required to submit an Aadhaar Card, the current year's land tax receipt or parcha, and the first page of their bank passbook along with the application.
- Is Aadhaar mandatory for availing the benefit?
Yes. Aadhaar is one of the mandatory documents required to establish the identity of the applicant and process the assistance claim.
- In which areas is the scheme implemented?
The scheme is available in all spice-growing States, Union Territories, and regions across India where eligible spice cultivation is undertaken.
