Started in 1989, the scheme "Operating Eklavya Model Residential School" implemented by the Tribal Area Development Department, Government of Rajasthan, aims to ensure continued education of Scheduled Tribe students through providing free residential schooling, food, uniforms, and academic support to eligible tribal students in Rajasthan. It is a centre-funded scheme.

पात्रता
- Tribal students who do not have a primary, secondary, or higher secondary school within 5 km of their residence.
- The students must be natives of Rajasthan.
- Parents and guardians should not be income tax payers.
- The family should not own more than 400 square yards of urban land.
- Agricultural land should not exceed 15 bighas or 3.76 hectares.
Note:
- All new applicants will be admitted on the basis of merit.
- Tribal students from the same area will have priority in admission to the respective schools.
- If seats become vacant, students from other areas may also be admitted.
- Students studying in schools will be admitted to the next year only after passing.
