The “Dr. Kailash Nath Katju Award for Science / Pandit Lajja Shankar Jha Award for Engineering & Technological Sciences / Dr. Hari Singh Gour Award for Social Sciences” scheme has been launched by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Madhya Pradesh. The scheme aims to recognize and encourage meritorious research and outstanding contributions in science, engineering and technological sciences, and social sciences at the state level to distinguished Indian researchers and scholars for their impactful work carried out in Madhya Pradesh.
लाभ
Cash Award: ₹50,000 awarded to each State Award recipient.
Citation: An official citation recognizing outstanding contribution in the relevant discipline.
Conditions Associated With Benefits:
- Awards are granted for outstanding contributions in Science, Engineering & Technological Sciences, or Social Sciences.
- An award may be given jointly to a maximum of 3 individuals.
- If awarded jointly, each recipient receives the full cash award of ₹50,000 and a citation.
- Awards are ordinarily conferred every year on a calendar-year basis.
Mode of Disbursement:
- The cash award is disbursed through cheque or approved financial mode by the Council.
Validity:
- The award is one-time; recipients are not eligible for re-nomination.

- The applicant should be an Indian national scientist.
- The applicant may be residing in India or abroad.
- The applicant should have carried out the recognized work in Madhya Pradesh.
- The applicant should have made an outstanding contribution in Science, Engineering & Technological Sciences, or Social Sciences.
- The applicant should be nominated by a reputed scientific, academic, or professional body.
- The applicant once nominated will be eligible for consideration for 3 consecutive years.
- The applicant once awarded will not be eligible for further nomination or consideration.

Step 1: The interested applicant downloads the application form from the official website.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields and attach copies of all the required documents (self-attested, if applicable).
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents to the M. P. Council of Science & Technology

- The applicant from an institution under consideration will be excluded if their institutional representative is on the Advisory Board.
