Choir(Hymn) Singing Competition

It is a cultural competition organized to encourage and showcase the musical talents of choir groups in Goa, particularly in hymn singing. It also aims to preserve and celebrate the tradition of choral music.

The competition is organized by the Art, Culture and Museums Department, Government of Goa, and implemented through the Kala Academy.

The primary goal is to promote talent in choir singing and provide a platform for groups to present devotional music, especially hymns, in a structured and competitive setting.

Any choir singing group based in Goa is eligible to participate, regardless of age group or religious denomination.

Entries are invited through press notes published in local newspapers, which include information on dates, rules, and how to collect entry forms.

Entry forms are available free of charge at the Kala Academy office.

No, there is no entry or registration fee for participating in the competition.

Participating groups receive to and fro transport support and ₹3,000/- as preparatory charges to help cover basic rehearsal or logistical expenses.

Any grievance related to the competition can be addressed to the Member Secretary or Chairman of the Kala Academy Goa.

If required, the Kala Academy may conduct a shortlisting process or preliminary evaluation depending on the number of entries received.
