Solar Power Pump Project (Component ‘B’) – PM Kusum

The scheme “Solar Power Pump Project (Component ‘B’) – PM Kusum” implemented by the Horticulture Department, Government of Rajasthan, is a centrally sponsored scheme that aims to provide standalone solar-powered irrigation pumps up to 7.5 HP capacity at subsidized rates to farmers for agricultural and horticultural purposes. The scheme is funded in the ratio of 50% by the Central Government and 50% by the State Government. It targets farmers without electricity connections and those dependent on diesel pumps. The project is implemented under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JLNNSM). The scheme is operational for a period of 5 years.

Subsidy on Solar Pump:

• Up to 60% subsidy on total cost of solar pump installation.
• Central Government provides 30% subsidy.
• State Government provides 30% subsidy.

Farmer Contribution:

• Remaining 40% cost to be borne by the farmer.
• Up to 30% of farmer’s share can be availed as bank loan.

Pump Capacity Support:

• Subsidy applicable up to 7.5 HP capacity.
• For a 10 HP pump installation, subsidy limited to 7.5 HP only.

Irrigation Support:

• Solar pumps are provided for irrigation in agriculture and horticulture crops.

• The applicant must be a farmer.
• The applicant must not have an agricultural electricity connection.
• The applicant must be dependent on diesel pumps or other irrigation sources.
• The applicant must use drip, mini sprinkler, micro sprinkler, or sprinkler irrigation systems.
• The applicant must be using high-tech horticulture methods such as greenhouse, shade net house, or low tunnels (if applicable).
• The applicant must have an existing irrigation water source recorded in land records (Jamabandi or revenue records).
• The applicant must submit an affidavit if irrigation is done using diesel pumps.
• The applicant must have water storage structures like farm pond, diggi, or water tank (if no electricity connection).
• The applicant from dark zone or black zone areas may also apply.
• The applicant must surrender the electricity connection application (if already applied) with consent to become eligible.
• Preference is given to small and marginal farmers.

Step 2: Selection is based on the priority of online application submission.
Step 3 Eligible applicants are shortlisted and approved for installation.
