The Defence Ministry signed contracts with GRSE and Goa Shipyard on Monday for eight Next Generation Corvettes, the first project where the Navy's own design goes to defence PSU yards picked through competition. GRSE shares rose over 4 per cent on Tuesday. The first ship is due in 2030.
