61.4 mm in a night: capital logs wettest October day in four years, air turns 'satisfactory'

The capital recorded 61.4 mm of rain in the 24 hours to 8.30 am on Friday, its wettest October day since 2022, pushing the month's total to 123.3 mm. The IMD issued a red alert for all districts till 11.15 am and a yellow alert for the rest of the day. The Air Quality Index fell to 90, in the 'satisfactory' band.
