Tiatr Day Celebration

The "Tiatr Day Celebration" is organised by the Kala Academy under the Department of Art and Culture, Government of Goa, to commemorate 17th April as Tiatr Day every year. On this occasion, Tiatr artists are felicitated, and a special Tiatr performance is staged. A press note is released in local dailies to invite the general public, Tiatr enthusiasts, and artists to the event, and invitation cards are sent to VIPs, institutions, and selected felicitants.

Selection Procedure: The Advisory Committee (Tiatr) of Kala Academy selects the felicitants based on their seniority and significant contributions to the Tiatr stage. The programme for the Tiatr Day celebration is finalised by the Advisory Committee (Tiatr) and approved by the authorities of Kala Academy.

Recognition: Felicitant artists are honoured with a memento and a shawl by distinguished personalities.
Support: Transportation is provided to felicitants, and entry for the public is free.

• The applicant should be a senior Goan Tiatr artist who has made significant contributions to the Tiatr stage to be eligible for felicitation.

Step 1: The interested applicant should visit the Kala Academy, Goa, and request a hard copy of the prescribed format of the application form from the Office of Tiatr Academy of Goa, Block A, 2nd Floor, Campal Trade Centre, Campal, Panaji, Goa.
Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, paste the passport-sized photograph (signed across, if required), and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).
Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents, within the prescribed period (if any), to the academy staff.
