The BJP and the Mahayuti have speeded up their strategy ahead of the upcoming Nagpur Division Graduate Constituency election. For this high-stakes and politically important contest, senior BJP leader and former minister MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar has been given the key responsibility of 'Nagpur Graduate Election Mahayuti Coordinator'. The BJP state president has officially announced the appointment.
Mungantiwar's long political experience, his firm grip over Vidarbha and his skill in coordinating across parties are expected to be decisive in bringing the Nagpur Division Graduate Constituency back under the Mahayuti's saffron flag.
Key background and reasons behind the appointment Coordination among Mahayuti allies:
Mungantiwar's first task will be to bring together the BJP, Shiv Sena (Shinde group), the NCP (Ajit Pawar group) and allies, including all local leaders, office-bearers and workers. He has the ability to take everyone along and field them with one goal.
Strong influence in Vidarbha:
Mungantiwar has wide public contact and a network of workers across all six districts of the Nagpur division: Nagpur, Wardha, Bhandara, Gondia, Chandrapur and Gadchiroli. He is in direct touch with various graduate organisations, the youth and the education sector.
Strong experience in election management:
The party has entrusted him with this responsibility, keeping in mind his record of planning precise strategies and winning elections for the party in several assembly, Lok Sabha and local self-government polls.
Role of state president Ravindra Chavan
BJP state president Ravindra Chavan said the Nagpur teachers' constituency is a matter of prestige for the party. Under Sudhir Mungantiwar's leadership, all major office-bearers and workers from across Vidarbha will work together. Chavan said the BJP is committed to the educational, economic and social security of teachers, and expressed confidence that the win is certain under Sudhirbhau's guidance.
Soon after taking up the responsibility, Sudhir Mungantiwar will hold a review meeting in Nagpur with major leaders from Vidarbha and office-bearers of the teachers' wing, and decide the next direction of the campaign.
