New Delhi: In the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case, the CBI has found that a set of leaked Chemistry questions matched a master question paper almost completely.

According to a CBI supplementary chargesheet citing an expert opinion from Delhi University, all 45 Chemistry questions in the master booklet codenamed "Shivalik" matched the document recovered from the phone of Shivraj Motegaonkar, founder of Latur-based RCC Classes. Forty-three of 45 questions in master set "Kailash" also matched.

The National Testing Agency told the CBI that four master sets are prepared for NEET, each with 180 questions split across Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Two are administrative sets, printed and distributed; the other two are not meant for distribution.

Investigators found that exam material was circulated before the test through WhatsApp, Telegram and AirDrop. A mock test dated April 19 had 15 questions matching master set Kailash; another dated April 30 had six matching Shivalik and five matching set 2. Twelve images with 13 Chemistry questions recovered from a co-accused's phone, sent between April 11 and April 29, matched 13 questions across the four master sets.

The chargesheet, filed before a Delhi fast-track court on July 28, names 13 accused, including NTA experts Manisha Mandhare, Pralhad Vithalrao Kulkarni and Manisha Sanjay Havaldar. A supplementary chargesheet naming a fresh accused was filed last week.

The CBI is continuing its investigation.

The probe suggests exam material was spread through several channels before the test. One witness told the CBI that a Chemistry PDF linked to Motegaonkar was received and forwarded on WhatsApp. Statements recorded in the supplementary chargesheet describe an advance payment of ₹5,000 to Vikas Biwal of Jaipur, followed by PDFs of hundreds of questions sent over Telegram, WhatsApp and AirDrop. The CBI is gathering evidence against all the accused.
