Bengaluru: ISRO will display emerging technologies at the Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2026 in New Delhi from October 27 to 29.
ISRO Chairman Dr V. Narayanan told reporters in Bengaluru that the exhibition will feature a model of a proposed next-generation heavy lift launch vehicle capable of placing payloads weighing more than 30,000 kg in low Earth orbit. Also on display will be information on the Chandrayaan 4 and Chandrayaan 5 projects, which envisage sending Indian astronauts to the Moon.
"This task has to be accomplished by 2040," Narayanan said. The conclave will also deliberate on the forthcoming human space flight mission Gaganyaan and the Bharatiya Antariksh Station. A vision document on the space sector for Viksit Bharat will be presented as well.
ISRO plans to expand private participation by handing over operational launch vehicles and satellite manufacturing to domestic industry and public sector companies, so that it can focus on advanced research and missions. The space agency has earlier clarified that it is not being privatised. The conclave aims to integrate efforts towards scientific advancement that can help India become a developed nation by 2047.
