Bengaluru: Infosys reported a net profit of Rs 7,823 crore for the September quarter, up 6.2% from Rs 7,364 crore a year earlier. Revenue rose to Rs 49,244 crore, about 11% higher year on year.

The Bengaluru-based IT services company's profit came in slightly below market estimates, while revenue marginally beat them. The board declared an interim dividend of Rs 26 per equity share, with November 3 as the record date and November 11 as the payout date.

Infosys trimmed its revenue growth guidance for 2026-27 to 1-2% in constant-currency terms, from an earlier 1.5-3%. It cited a challenging demand environment, but retained its operating margin guidance of 20-22%.

The company won large deals worth $5.2 billion during the quarter, of which 62% was net new. That includes a mega deal of over $2 billion, CEO Salil Parekh said.

Revenue from AI services accounted for 10.5% of total revenue and grew 29% quarter on quarter, Parekh said, as enterprises adopt AI at scale.

Growth was uneven across segments. Life sciences grew 32.5% year on year, while energy, utilities, resources and services rose 7.3%. But the high-tech segment contracted 17.3% and retail fell 7.7%.

Geographically, Europe grew 4.6% in constant-currency terms, while North America, the largest market, declined 1.5%. Total headcount stood at 3,32,542, up 4,480 from the previous quarter.

For the first half of the financial year, revenue growth in constant-currency terms was 1.9%. The company reported free cash flow of about $928 million for the quarter, CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka said.
