New Delhi: IndiGo has extended the suspension of its flights to Saudi Arabia, with services to and from Riyadh now cancelled till October 31, the Indian embassy in Riyadh said on Friday.

In a post on X, the embassy said flights to and from Riyadh would remain cancelled till October 31, 2026, while those to and from Jeddah, Dammam and Medina would remain cancelled till October 27, 2026.

The extension follows an earlier suspension announced amid security-related concerns. The embassy's update is meant to inform Indian travellers in the kingdom and those planning to fly, with the airline yet to announce a revised schedule.

IndiGo, India's largest carrier by market share, operates a large network of services to the Gulf, and the route is used heavily by the Indian diaspora and by workers travelling to and from Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is home to a large Indian expatriate community, and Gulf routes account for a significant share of Indian carriers' international traffic.

Passengers holding tickets on the affected flights are advised to check with the airline for rebooking and refund options. The airline has not publicly detailed the reason for the extension beyond the security concerns cited earlier.

The embassy said it would continue to share updates on flight operations. IndiGo has not said whether the suspension could be extended beyond these dates.
