The "Mukhyamantri Rajya Krishi Vikas Yojana" is introduced by the Sugarcane Development and Sugar Industry, Govt of Uttarakhand, which aims to achieve holistic development of the agriculture and allied sectors, focusing on improved sugarcane cultivation. Through this scheme, grants for sugarcane seed production, certification, field demonstrations, transportation, agricultural machinery, seed price payments, pest/disease and weed control, and distribution of micro nutrients and bio-fertilizers are provided to sugarcane farmers, progressive farmers, co-operative sugarcane societies, and progressive sugarcane farmers engaged in improved sugarcane cultivation. The scheme is implemented by the Sugarcane Department and research centres like G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar.
लाभ
- Breeder Seed Production: To be carried out at Pantnagar University’s research farms, with 25% nurseries in autumn and 75% in spring. A subsidy of ₹100/quintal is provided, split into two parts—one for input costs and one at the time of seed distribution.1. Aadhaar (Foundation) Nursery: Establishment of nurseries with a subsidy of ₹50/quintal, up to a maximum of ₹15,000/-.1. Primary Nursery: Subsidy of ₹25/quintal on seed distribution, with a cap of ₹10,000/-.1. Field Demonstrations: Demonstration of new sugarcane sowing technologies on 0.5 ha plots, with ₹7,500/- subsidy per farmer.1. Seed Transportation & Harvesting: 100% subsidy on actual cost of transporting elite seed from research farms to licensed buyers or development councils.1. Agricultural Equipment Subsidy: Distribution of manually operated sugarcane cultivation machines under the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization scheme.1. Seed Price Differential Support: Subsidy on actual cost of sugarcane seed sourced from any recognized research center (within or outside the state).1. Pest, Disease & Weed Control: 50% subsidy or up to ₹3,000/- per hectare for weed and pest management.1. Micronutrient, Organic & Bio-fertilizer Support: 50% subsidy or up to ₹1,000/- per hectare to improve cultivation and sugar recovery.1. Farmer Training & Awareness: Promotion of scientific sugarcane farming through publicity, soil testing, and training at the village and district levels.

To avail the benefits of this scheme, the selection of sugarcane farmers is done after discussion with public representatives in a Gram Sabha (village assembly) meeting at the village level and a survey by the Sugarcane Supervisor, followed by approval from departmental officers (Sugarcane Development Inspector, Senior Sugarcane Development Inspector, and Assistant Sugarcane Commissioner).
