Mumbai, May 22: Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the most powerful medium of transformation for the future. There is a need to adopt AI in every sphere of life. Through initiatives like Mumbai Tech Week, opportunities in AI will reach the youth, and Maharashtra will emerge as the leading hub of AI innovation in the country, asserted Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was speaking today while announcing Mumbai Tech Week (MTW) 2026 at Sahyadri Guest House. Organised by the Tech Entrepreneurs Association of Mumbai (TEAM) in collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra, powered by IDFC FIRST Bank and co-powered by Meta, the event will be held on May 29 and 30 at Jio World Convention Centre. Organised under the theme “India: AI in Action,” Mumbai Tech Week 2026 will showcase practical applications of AI across various sectors, with participation from companies such as Meta, Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Cloud and Nesa. On this occasion, the logo of Mumbai Tech Week was also unveiled.
Chief Minister Fadnavis said that the government is using AI across various departments, and through AI, administration is becoming more capable and effective. “The government is actively playing the role of the biggest stakeholder in this transformation.” Expressing confidence that platforms like Mumbai Tech Week will help take AI-related experiences to people on a much wider scale, he also suggested showcasing experiential presentations of the government’s AI initiatives during the event. Appreciating the growing expansion of TEAM, Chief Minister Fadnavis said that an increasing number of youth and professionals from the technology sector are associating with this initiative, which is a positive development. The Government of Maharashtra will always stand firmly behind innovation and industrial growth in the AI sector. Let us organise a Mumbai Tech Week that is bigger and more impactful than last year and connect Maharashtra’s youth with new opportunities in the AI sector, enabling them to access opportunities at the global level.

Harsh Jain further said that apart from AI showcases, Mumbai Tech Week will also host the AI Excellence Awards 2026, an Early Stage Startup Showcase, and an AI-based Job Fair. More than 25 companies will conduct recruitment drives at the Job Fair, offering over 250 employment opportunities for more than 30,000 candidates. In addition, masterclasses and “Stories Unplugged” sessions will also be organised. To build momentum ahead of the main event, 14 satellite events will be organised across Mumbai to ensure wider participation from the ecosystem.
